Location: Regus, Quayside Tower, Birmingham

Share ideas, opinions and advice with like-minded individuals in your local testing community. This event discusses 'Next Generation Testers'.

For the last six decades testing has been recognised as a distinct activity within software development, although the specific interpretation of what testing constitutes has changed over time.

Waterfall is still one of the most common approaches to software delivery and that brings with it certain assumptions about what testing will entail and what value it is intended to bring; more recent approaches like Agile are growing in adoption and have a very different set of assumptions and objectives for testing.

The skills and approaches that our teams have built up over the second half of the 20th Century are a poor fit for a lot of modern delivery teams, so the key question becomes:

  • What skills and aptitudes will the next generation of testers need to thrive?
  • And how can we help our experienced testers jump the generation gap?

Led by Dan Martland, the November 2016 Sting Event encourages the audience to participate and share their own insights and experiences.
