Laura's Southern Rockies Canadian Trek 2018
St Andrew's Hospice is a very special charity to my family and I. The hospice cared for my late father. As a family this was one of the most difficult times we have ever experienced. My family and I are most grateful to St Andrew's Hospice for the level of care and support we received from the staff. It takes a very special person to work in a place like St Andrew's. The hospice provides a high standard of specialist palliative care to the people of Lanarkshire, encompassing human dignity and compassion.
As Lanarkshire's only specialist palliative care hospice, they provide multidisciplinary support for their patients, their families and carers. Whilst they receive funding from NHS Lanarkshire and other sources, this only partially covers their running costs. Continued provision of these services is only made possible by the generosity and assistance of the people of Lanarkshire.
That is why i am embarking on a major challenge trekking the Canadian Rockies in September from 24 Sep to 03 Oct 2018 in aid of St Andrew’s Hospice. With your help, i hope to reach my target of £3,500.
To help raise funds, I took part in St Andrew's Hospice festival of cycling on the 10th June. We did the 100km (61 miles). Definitely the hardest cycle I have ever took part in what an achievement! and thank you so much to everyone who has supported this great cause!
I would also like to say a special thanks to all the staff and generous customers of M&S Coatbridge. We made £537.40 from bag packing.
If you would like to help me reach my target, you can text 'TRKK94' followed by the amount you wish to donate (eg '£2') to 70070 or you can go to my Just Giving page link:
